Today, I don’t have the depth within me to share a profound reflection or a life philosophy. And you know what? That’s okay. It’s in moments like this that I remind myself I get to be all of me—not just the parts that feel polished or well-received.
I can be philosophical and self-reflective and someone who spends an afternoon watching Hallmark Christmas movies and reading The Fourth Wing. Yes, today was all about dreaming of Christmas and getting swept away into a world of dragons and lust.
So, instead of diving into something deep, I thought I’d share a list of my favourite books. No agenda here—just hoping to inspire you to escape into a great story for a little while, as I have.
Here are a few of my all-time favourites:
The Great Alone – Kristin Hannah
Where the Crawdads Sing – Delia Owens
The Untethered Soul – Michael A. Singer
Untamed – Glennon Doyle
The Covenant of Water – Abraham Verghese
Educated – Tara Westover
Lessons in Chemistry – Bonnie Garmus
American Dirt – Jeanine Cummins
The Kite Runner – Khaled Hosseini
A Thousand Splendid Suns – Khaled Hosseini
The Beekeeper of Aleppo – Christy Lefteri
The Housemaid Series – Freida McFadden
The Forty Rules of Love – Elif Shafak
Before We Were Yours – Lisa Wingate
The Paper Palace – Miranda Cowley Heller
As we settle into this cosy season, I’d love to hear about the books you’ve cherished. Drop your favourites in the comments—maybe you’ll inspire my next read!
